THE RATINGS ARE IN! WEEK: (9/8/1997)
WCW Nitro-
A good start to the show with having Hogan put on an open challenge. If this is used to develop a new top guy, that would be great. The opening match was a solid choice, nothing wrong with that. I support a Jericho/Malenko feud. The tag match was weird, and the way to distract their opponents was just poor, I thought. That's a huge win for Hugh Morrus. It continues to advance the Luger storyline, but Lex can't be losing to anyone and everyone. I like the idea of Bagwell and Norton coming for the titles. A good win for Raven. Another upset win for Rogers over Nash. This must mean that Rogers is getting a push for the long haul. Hall being the surprise opponent was kind of disappointing but you guys are doing a fine job promoting the Fall Brawl pay per view, already. Rating: 8/10
WWF Raw-
An alright start to the show by having the chaos that is the Hardcore division starting off the show. I thought the segment involving Angle and Goldust was done nicely. I'm not a fan of the name of the group, nor am I a fan of the mocking of the Flock in WCW. This would give your rival airtime on your own channel. If you are making a note of them, it could cause channel changing. Just look at what Tony Schiavone did on Nitro with Foley. You guys should probably know that Stu Hart was still alive when this would be taking place. He didn't die until 2003. Nonetheless, it was a good segment despite that huge blunder. Good win for HBK & HHH. Really enjoy the way Vader has been built up. A fine win for the Rock as that could establish him as well. An excellent final segment to close the show. Rating: 7.5/10
The Final Word-
A really good week of shows this week. Good job guys. Sorry for the delay in getting this done. Now that the semester is over, this shouldn't happen for a few weeks. Anyway, I gave Nitro the win this week because their show did a good job of teasing matches for the pay per view. RAW did a good job of getting me interested in next weeks show. It seems like Nitro books in advance while RAW may be doing a week by week formula, so that's interesting as well. Plus, I had to knock off ½ a point because of the blunder about Stu Hart being dead.
