- RESULTS -
Opening Segment: In order to "mix" things up, "Hollywood" Hogan declared that tonight's main event will feature an open challenge with Hogan himself being the man who would await a random roster member to answer. Hogan, as well as the rest of the nWo, seemingly take it all as one big joke and head backstage to "prepare" for the night ahead.
Dean Malenko Def. Syxx (7:40): In a lengthy battle back and forth between two men of contrasting styles, the #1 Contender, Dean Malenko, was able to pick up the victory against Syxx. The pace stayed lightning quick the whole way through and down times were only dictated by small mistakes made by both men. Twenty-two two counts were recorded, all occurring not far from the last. Both men put on quite the opener.
Post-Match Segment: After Malenko secured his hard-earned victory, WCW Cruiserweight Champion Chris Jericho ringside to basically mock-congratulate Malenko on his win. He even got on the mic and blurted, "C'mon! Let's hear it for Stinko Malenko! What Heart! Dean, Oh Dean, I'm your biggest fan!" More Info Here.
Inferno & Wright Def. Meng & The Barbarian (3:52): What started out as a joke turned into genuine determination on the part of "The World's Grooviest Tag Team", with Disco Inferno and "Das Wunderkind" Alex Wright actually tagging together very well. It was obvious, the two came with a set game-plan and seemed to execute it very well on their, bigger, stronger opponents. With that said, they were never really able to secure the momentum in their favor for more than a few seconds. Towards the end of the match, an enormous disco ball came crashing from the celling, smashing on the entrance way. Inferno capitalized on the confusion and was able to roll-up Meng for a stolen three count.
Post-Match Segment: It had been obvious that "The World's Grooviest Tag Team" had set up the disco ball to drop during their match, to distract their opponents to gain the upset victory. The two laughed and danced away from Meng & The Barbarian as they made their way to the back.
Pre-Match Interview: "Total Package" Lex Luger was interviewed backstage before his match by Gene Okerlund. Okerlund only had one question on his mind, as did everyone else, "Where is Sting?" This enraged Luger as he smashed Gene up against the row of lockers they had been standing in front of. Without answering (or even saying a word) Luger walked out after his assault.
Hugh Morrus Def. Lex Luger (5:55): Luger was unable to focus and it was very apparent. He had the match one on several occasions, yet failed to attempt a pin once. Instead, he wailed mercilessly on Morrus and paced back and forth, muttering to himself and pulling his hair. After utterly destroying Morrus, Luger snapped and left the ring. He headed up the ramp and went backstage. Morrus won the match via count-out, yet appeared to be in bad shape.
Backstage Segment: Th cameras pick up on Luger running full speed around the hallways of the backstage area, pushing technicians down and out of his way. He ends up in the parking lot, when he spotted a man in a long black coat getting off of a motorcycle. Luger turned the man around and slugged him without warning. Out cold, it is reveled that the man was just a event-goer parking and heading in for his ticket. More Info Here.
The Steiners Def. Wrath & Mortis (6:29): In what turned out to be a pretty decent tag team match, the Steiners were able to gain the victory over their determined opponents. The match was contested completely clean with both teams fighting hard to win.
Post-Match Segment: After the match, "Buff" Bagwell and Scott Norton rushed down to ringside, surrounded the ring and poised to attack. Ready to pounce, they let off and instead whispered a few things to each other. Then, it seemed they just decided to leave... With smiles painted wide on their faces they left The Steiners in the ring confused, yet untouched.
Pre-Match Interview: Curt Hennig is interviewed with Ted DiBiase and he stated that "Things were just being instructed strictly for business..." At the end of the interview, Ted noticeably Paid Hennig off as he laughed his way off camera...
Raven Def. Curt Hennig (8:34): In what was considered to be the match of the night, Hennig put on a clinic and Raven was able to keep up with him for the most part. They both held their own and put one hell of a match. The ending came when Raven turned around the Perfect Plex into a crippling Evenflow DDT.
Post-Match Segment: The entire Flock appeared ringside from all angles as soon as the bell signaled.Ted DiBiase soon appeared as well and offered to pay each of them, except Raven who was still in the ring with Hennig. The Flock accepted the money and left satisfied. As Ted DiBiase left, the Flock then threw all the money into the crowd and attacked Hennig and DiBiase, until DiBiase's hired security appeared and rescued them.
Big Bubba Rogers Def. Kevin Nash (6:57): The battle between these two giants stated with Nash dominating with furious offense. Rogers was able to mount a comeback and even ended up upsetting Nash with a victory. More Info Here.
Pre-Match Segment: Before the main event began, Rick Rude entered and sat ringside at the commentator's table with a headset. More Info Here.
Hogan's Open Challange (5:22): "El Chicho" a genaric, over excited luchador answered Hogan's open challenge. After Beating Hogan with a chair and getting himself disqualified disqualified, the entire nWo rushed to the ring. Scott Hall revealed himself to be the masked man and was barely able to escape. He used the chair on a few nWo guys, until he was able to finally reach the stage. nWo began to approach Hall in full force as a unit, when Rogers & The Steiners joined Hall on the stage. The men met in two rows and stood face-to-face with one another...

Hogan was clearly angry, as was the rest of the group. Hogan demanded he get his rematch and that he wanted it tonight! Eric Bischoff stopped Hogan and said that he will get his rematch in due time. Post-Match Segment: After Raven's match, as he and The Flock are celebrating, Ted Dibiase came out with his security team from Road Wild and said how he couldn't believe Raven beat and caused Flair an injury. He announced that Flair would be out for at least two weeks. Amused, Raven grabbed a microphone and asked Ted why he was so surprised? He did exactly as he said he would do and broke the established order that Flair represented. Ted continued to try and say something but, Raven continued to cut him off. Contract Signing: Tonight's show opened with a contract signing between WCW Heavyweight Champion "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan and the Challenger Scott Hall. Eric Bischoff hosted the event in the ring. Eric allowed both men to talk for 30 seconds about their opponent. Hall went first saying simply, "Hogan you are nothing but a joke. Nobody has cared about you since 1987. Face it Chico, the biggest thing you ever did was slam a giant. I tamed one and tagged with him too. Face it Hulkster, your time and your title reign are both up!" Then the champion Hogan responded with his 30 seconds saying, "You know somethin' Scott... you're right. I have slammed giants. So just what do you think I can do to a guy like you? You've never faced a man like "Hollywood" Hogan before dude! You be lucky to make it out alive because, a nWo reject has no business facing the World Heavyweight Champion!" They both signed the contract and surprisingly, things wrapped without a conflict.
Backstage Segment: Lex Luger is seen backstage looking hastily through the dark parts of the arena including the basement and under the main seating bleachers. He seems out of it as he is mumbling to himself and nearly hyperventilating in search of someone or something.
Eddie Guerrero Def. "The Crippler" Chris Benoit (5:57): As the two friends clashed in competition, it was easy to see the two really appreciated the each other's skill. It was a very even battle all the way up to the end, with both men standing firmly up against one another. The ending came from nearly out of nowhere when Eddie stunned Benoit with an explosive powerbomb from the top turnbuckle. Eddie successfully followed up with a Frog Splash to gain the pin over Chris Benoit. The two shook hands after the match, showing true sportsmanship.
Post-Match Promo: Ruining the moment, Chris Jericho is heard on the Mic saying, "That's right Crippler. Hug and kiss your little Mexican friend goodbye because tonight marks his last appearance on Monday Night Nitro! Now, I hate to break up this little fiesta boys but, I have a huge announcement for all of the Jerichoholics here tonight... Our match at Road Wild, will now be a hair versus hair match!" Jericho also claimed that he is more than willing to put up his luscious locks against Eddie's terrible mullet. Also, due to the recent debate over Eddie's visa, if Eddie loses he can not wrestle in the U.S. anymore!
8-Man Tag Match Ended In A Draw (3:22): After a lightning-paced match beginning, things really began to breakdown. Every cruiserweight involved added to the unorganized chaos as the ref lost control and called for the bell. Order could not be restored as the ring became involved in an all-out war. More Info Here.
Backstage Brawl: Alex Wright and Disco Inferno are shown arguing backstage about their dance moves they claim the other stole. They begin to taunt each other by doing disco style moves with their hips and hands. The two then got frustrated and began to brawl in the catering area. Security pulled them apart before it got any worse. More Info Here.
nWo Def. The Flock (7:34): Surprisingly enough, the nWo picked up this victory cleanly. There were no run ins, leading each team to pull out all the stops in their attempts to beat one another. The second part of the match was solely dominated by the nWo, with Nash and the Giant having experience on their side. The Giant stopped Richards dead in his tracks with a huge falling chokeslam just as Nash finished off DDP with a Jack Knife Powerbomb. The two picked up the victory and will face The Steiners at Road Wild for the WCW Tag Team Championships.
Backstage Interview: The audience is taken backstage where Gene Okerlund has Ric Flair standing by for a last-minute interview before he leaves the arena. He questions Ric about his thoughts on Raven and The Flock and about their antics as of late. Flair claims that he is fed up with it and that he has been having trouble sleeping due to being worried about himself and his family. Flair rushes the interview along to get home in fear of anything else happening like they have been. As flair gets into his limo, he gives the driver instructions to head to the airport and tells him to hurry because he doesn't want to see Raven and has no time to waste. You hear the doors lock and the driver turn around and is revealed to be Raven! He asks Flair "What about me? What about Raven?! Raven floors the gas, shocking Flair, and peels out of the parking complex and out onto the street.
Randy "Macho Man" Savage Def. "Total Package" Lex Luger (6:16): Luger was in a noticeably deranged state at this point in the night. He wrestles this match in his tights and sneakers, leaving out knee-pads and his ring boots. Savage took full advantage and pulled no punches. He was able to put Luger away pretty quickly and mounted most, if not all, the offense in the match. As Savage piledrivered the disoriented Luger and dropped the elbow from the top turnbuckle, it was all over before it even started. An easy victory for Savage here and he'll take it.
Post-Match Segment: Lex Luger is seen backstage frantically searching for who we now know is Sting. Paranoid by every little noise, he is seen checking around corners and hallways backstage. Luger even begins shouting Sting's name saying that he was supposed to have his answer tonight and that he knows he is here somewhere. The camera stops following him as he continues down the hallway. More Info Here.
Big Bubba Roger Def. Scott Norton (8:03): These two big men gave it their all in the main event tonight. Both tried to show that the main event is where they belong. After a grueling match, Big Bubba Rogers barely pulled out the victory over Norton. With a little help from Scott Hall who was ringside Bubba was able to ignore the loud-mouthed "Buff" Bagwell and put this match away. Bubba Rogers and Hall made their way backstage after leaving Norton in a heap in the ring and Bagwell attending to him.
Construction Site Promo: Raven has brought Flair to a construction site and is driving like crazy, running into things and driving over bumps and uneven dirt. He stops in the middle of this construction site and gets onto the top of the limo. He then pulls Ric Flair half-way through the sun roof and begins explaining to him how at Road Wild the established order is going to end and that Raven will get what he wants, the WCW US Title. He then pulls Flair all the way out and says that he will put Flair through hell and make him regret ever getting in his way to the top. Flair, basically in tears he is so frightened, is begging for mercy. Raven laughs and throws Flair off the limo into a pile of dirt, hops off the top of the limo, returns to the driver's seat and drives away, leaving flair helpless and begging for help while in the dirt.
Backstage Attack: At the end of the show Scott Hall and Big Bubba Rogers are seen leaving the arena and are both attacked by members of the nWo (Kevin Nash, The Giant, Scott Norton and Buff Bagwell) in the parking lot.

He claims at WCW Road Wild he will have Hall's head on a pole after he is done with him. Eric Bischoff then mentioned that next week there will be a contract signing between the two. Lex Luger then got on the mic before the nWo left the ring, only to claim that Sting was the reason for him not winning the battle royal last week. His head was not in the right place because of Sting. He then challenged Sting to a match at WCW Road Wild and demanded an answer by next week.
Disco Inferno Def. Syxx (5:20): After a commanding lead for the onset of the match, Syxx was shut down immediately due to receiving a "Last Dance", courtesy of Disco Inferno. With many close counts, Inferno had lady luck in his corner tonight.

Post Match Attack: Eddie Guerrero was attacked from behind during his celebration by Chris Jericho, who came from the crowd hitting Eddie with the Cruiserweight Championship. After that, Jericho grabbed a mic and explained that not only is he mad about the fact that Eddie started his losing streak but, that something else has also came to his attention. Jericho claims that Eddie has no visa or green-card to even be allowed in the United States. Jericho then began to challenge the #1 Contender, questioning if he should even be able to wrestle for his belt, after claim that Eddie has not told this to the WCW officials. The nWo Def. Harlem Heat (9:54): After a Flock no-show, the match then turned into a two-on-two match. Nash & Giant showed major dominance over Booker T & Stevie Ray. Harlem Heat was no doubt distracted by the over-the-top Steiners, who were featured on commentary for the match's entirety.
"The Crippler" Chris Benoit Def. Chavo Guerrero Jr. (7:50): In a very equally skilled mat-based match, Chavo Jr. ended up being defeated by his friend, Chris Benoit. Though Guerrero Jr. tapped out, the two remain friends and made the most of the friendly competition.
Jeff Jarett Def. Ric Flair (3:45): Ric Flair shockingly left mid-match, losing by count out, after seeing an on screen video of The Flock (Konnan, DDP, and Richards) live at Ric Flair's house in Charlotte, North Carolina. Raven then walked into frame to explain that this is just what needs to be done, the established order that "The Nature Boy" represents needs to be dismantled. Raven then uttered "Quote the Raven, Nevermore", lifted his arms up to taunt and then laughed sadistically until the picture faded. More Info Here.

Scott Hall (7:55): Just as Scott Hall hit the Outsider's Edge on Savage, Hogan made his way down the ramp with Eric Bischoff yelling at Hall before he could cover Savage. As Scott Hall yelled threats at Hogan and Bischoff, Savage grabbed Hall into a school-boy for a stolen victory. By the end of the attack both Hall and Rogers had been laid out cold.
